Honey - The Perfect Antibiotic Capable of Solving The Problem of Antibiotic Resistance

'Honey, one of the most incredible non-perishable foods that can kill almost every type of bacteria. It could also be one sweet solution to the serious, ever-growing problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, researchers said.

Medical professionals sometimes use honey successfully as a topical dressing, but it could play a larger role in fighting infections, the researchers predicted. Their study was part of the 247th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world’s largest scientific society.'

All About Honey: Raw, Wild, Manuka…What Kind is Best for Health?

http://www.luckinlove.com/purehoney.jpg

'I grew up on a working organic farm in New England that included a small orchard with apple, pear, peach, and cherry trees. By working the land and following nature’s seasonal cycles, I learned the importance of pollination early in life. After the cold, long winters, fruit trees blossomed and honeybees went to work. From an early age, I developed a fondness for bees and later, when living in California, kept my own backyard apiary.

Honeybees are amazing. During the darkest hours of the new moon, I would get up in the middle of the night and put my ear against the wooden sides of a bee box to hear the symphony of thousands of bees humming together. I also learned the value of propolis, pollen, and honey for health and healing.'

Manuka Honey Effective Against Antibiotic Resistant MRSA

Manuka Honey Effective Against Antibiotic Resistant MRSA

'For years doctors have been overprescribing antibiotics. A University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine study found physicians commonly use antibiotics to treat hospitalized patients with acute viral respiratory track infections, in spite of the fact antibiotics are known to be ineffective for these infections.[i]

And the growing popularity of antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers contributes to the saturation of the world in antibacterials.

As a result, many scientists have been warning of a possible medical catastrophe from an epidemic of antibiotic resistant superbugs. Fortunately, manuka honey may be a natural and ancient solution to a modern health disaster.'

New Study Says Honey Beats Antibiotic Prescription Drugs

 225555649_e459189661_honey

'There has been plenty in the news about superbugs, strains of bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotic drugs because of their overuse.  But there has not been much offered as a solution to this problem until now.  A new study is showing that honey can supply the best antibiotic protection without any unwanted side effects.

“The unique property of honey lies in its ability to fight infection on multiple levels, making it more difficult for bacteria to develop resistance,” reported lead researcher Susan M. Meschwitz Ph.D.  The study’s findings were presented last month to the 247th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific society.'

'Honey and cinnamon is useful toward healing cancer and arthritis. Is this a stretch, a rumor, or what? Not according to a January 17, 1995 issue of Canadian magazine Weekly World News. It listed honey and cinnamon`s cancer and arthritis healing as clinically proven and recognized it as valid, even ` Ram-Ban` (effective and safe), for several health issues including cancer and arthritis.

But for whatever reason, this hard copy magazine`s news item about honey and cinnamon didn't get picked up on the Internet until 2006 through 2009, when it went viral.'

Honey: A Powerful Anti-Cancer Agent

'Most of us know honey as a sweet treat, but few are aware of its powerful cancer killing properties.

Honey is a superlative healing food. We know it has over 69 health benefits, as confirmed by the biomedical literature itself. But did you know it could be of profound benefit in diseases as life threatening and seemingly incurable as cancer?

Honey and Ginger Beat Antibiotics in Inhibiting Superbugs

'Honey, and combinations of honey and herbs have been used for thousands of years to counteract various ailments including infections. And honey and ginger has been used as a healing combination for many conditions. But few realized just how antibiotic honey was - until recently.

Researchers from Ethiopa's College of Medicine at the University of Gondar have determined that a combination of honey and ginger extract powder will inhibit the growth of superbugs such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae - some of the most lethal 'superbugs' known.'

Can Honey Help You Heal from Insomnia and Adrenal Fatigue?

'Honey has been used as a popular remedy to induce sleep for thousands of years.

An ancient Chinese saying calls for "eating honey every night," and European folk healers have recommended drinking a cup of warm milk with a teaspoon of honey before bedtime since the Middle Ages.

Another old-fashioned remedy is to take two teaspoons of cider vinegar with two teaspoons of honey in a glass of warm water before bedtime, while traditional Mexican healers have long prescribed a teaspoon of raw honey in a cup of warm te de manzanilla, or chamomile tea. Variations that are said to induce sleep include a teaspoon of honey in a cup of hot water, a teaspoon of honey in a cup of passionflower tea, or simply a smear of honey on a peanut butter sandwich before bedtime.'

'One criticism often received by recipes involving cooked onions, garlic and other alliums is that the heating process destroys much of the allicin that leads to its protective effects. While this is partially true, knowing how to optimize garlic before eating it raw or cooked will maximize garlic enzymes and give them the best chance to survive meal preparation. I’ll share a very simple recipe to use regularly during the cold and flu season that will supercharge your immune system.'

'Honey bees are tireless workers, committed to sustaining life for all through pollination of various plants and crops. Honey bees are effective natural chemists as well. By collecting resins from leaf buds and vegetables, they are able to produce propolis.

Bees create propolis from their environment in order to disinfect their beehives, seal cracks, build panels and even embalm intruders. Propolis is an effective antimicrobial agent, useful for disinfecting. Humans can collect and utilize propolis for personal health reasons.

Scientists from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India, have found promising evidence showing how propolis treats aluminum toxicity.'
